Sterilisation

Thermally compacted waste is sterilised as the temperature profile and duration is in excess of standard sterilisation procedures such as hospital autoclaving.

It is anticipated that food packaging material will contain blood and other organic matter and this is desiccated during the process, fluid leaving the machine as steam is dealt with by the filtration system.

The advantage of sterilised material is that it is virtually odourless and can be stored indefinitely until a useful load is available for transportation.

The following laboratory certificate confirms sterilisation of heavily contaminated waste. Contact us for more information...

Complete sterilisation of food packaging.

The Thermal Compactor is manufactured from stainless steel and Teflon coated aluminium and consequently will not corrode in the anticipated environment.

As the boxes are melted to a resin and then chilled into a briquette, the material cannot create blockages as physical ‘memory’ is lost.

Fluids, water or ice is melted and converted to steam.
