Health and Safety Risk Analysis

Styromelt™ machines are precision made from high quality materials and are rigorously tested to ensure performance and safety.

The Styromelt machine emissions are primarily steam and styrene odour. The HSE threshold for continual styrene exposure is 200 ppm/m3, the machine emissions are typically less than 4 ppm/m3.

The machine door is protected by an electromechanical door lock that prevents access when the machine is running hot.

The machine contains an automatic fire suppression system and the machine construction is designed to contain fire without spreading. This has been proven by experiment.

There are no moving parts other than the filtration fan totally enclosed in the control cabinet and consequently no risk of entrapment.
